Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Javier Pereira Coffee LLC ("Javier Pereira Coffee," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit javierpereira.coffee or buy from our online store.

This policy covers our United States store only. Purchases made in Colombia through javierpereira.cafe are made from Javier Pereira S.A.S. and are governed by that company's separate policies under Colombian law.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you place an order we collect your name, email address, shipping address, and the contents of your order. When you subscribe to our emails we collect your name and email address. When you write to us through the contact form we collect your name, email address, and whatever you choose to tell us.

Payment information. We never see or store your card number. Payments are processed by Stripe on Stripe's own hosted checkout page. Stripe sends us only what we need to fulfill the order: confirmation that payment succeeded, the amount, the last four digits of the card, and your shipping address.

Information collected automatically. When you browse the site we and our analytics and advertising providers may collect your IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring page, the pages you view, and how long you stay. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies, described in our Cookie Policy.

What we do not collect. We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, government identification numbers, financial account numbers, precise geolocation, biometric data, or information about health, race, religion, sexual orientation, or political beliefs. We do not ask for them and you should not send them to us.

2. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

• process, fulfill, and ship your orders, and send you order confirmations and tracking numbers;
• answer your questions and provide customer service, including returns and refunds;
• send you marketing emails about new releases, offers, and coffee news, if you asked to receive them;
• measure and improve how the site and our advertising perform;
• detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; and
• comply with our legal obligations, including tax and accounting records.

3. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only with the service providers we need to run the store, and only for the purposes described here:

• Stripe, Inc. — payment processing and fraud prevention.
• Supabase, Inc. — the database where orders, subscribers, and reviews are stored.
• Resend (Plus Five, Inc.) — sending order confirmations, shipping notices, and marketing emails.
• Vercel Inc. — hosting and delivery of the website.
• United States Postal Service and other carriers — delivering your package. They receive your name, address, and phone number.
• Google LLC — Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, for traffic measurement.
• Meta Platforms, Inc. — the Meta Pixel and Conversions API, for advertising measurement and audiences.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it — a subpoena, court order, or lawful government request — to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

A note on advertising. Our use of the Meta Pixel and similar advertising tools may be considered "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under some state privacy laws, even though no money changes hands. You can opt out at any time — see Section 6.

4. How long we keep your information

We keep order records for as long as needed to fulfill the order and then for the period required by United States tax and commercial recordkeeping rules, generally seven years. Marketing subscribers are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact form messages are kept for two years. Analytics data is retained according to the settings of each provider.

5. Security

The site is served over HTTPS and payment pages are hosted by Stripe, which is certified under PCI DSS Level 1. Access to our database and email systems is limited to people who need it, and is protected by unique credentials. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by Florida Statutes § 501.171 and any other applicable law.

6. Your choices and rights

Marketing emails. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link and a one-click unsubscribe header. We honor unsubscribe requests promptly and, in any case, within the ten business days required by the CAN-SPAM Act. You will still receive transactional emails about orders you placed.

Cookies and advertising. You can control cookies through your browser, install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, and adjust ad personalization in your Facebook or Instagram settings. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Access, correction, deletion, and opt-out. Wherever you live, you may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, give you a portable copy, or stop using it for advertising. Write to [email protected] with the subject "Privacy Request." We will verify your identity by asking you to confirm details of an order or the email address on file, and we will respond within 45 days. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights: same prices, same products, same service.

If you live in California. The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, gives residents the rights described above, including the right to know the categories of personal information collected, the sources, the business purpose, and the categories of third parties involved — all of which are set out in Sections 1 through 3. We do not sell personal information. We do share limited identifiers and internet activity with advertising partners for cross-context behavioral advertising, and you may direct us to stop by writing to us with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information." You may use an authorized agent, who must provide written proof of authority.

If you live in Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, or another state with a comprehensive privacy law. You have substantially the same rights, and you may appeal a decision we make about your request by replying to our response with the word "Appeal." We will inform you in writing of the outcome and, if we deny the appeal, how to contact your state Attorney General.

7. Children

Our store is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to [email protected] and we will delete it.

8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Web browsers may send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common industry standard for how to respond to it, and we do not currently respond to it. If you send us an opt-out preference signal such as Global Privacy Control, we will treat it as a request to stop sharing your information for advertising to the extent our systems can identify you.

9. Where your information is processed

We are based in the United States and our service providers process information in the United States and other countries. If you access the site from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those of your country.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and if the changes are significant we will post a notice on the site. Continued use of the store after an update means you accept the revised policy.
